This week on the Worst Generation Podcast, the crew discusses what makes a proper Anime and Manga series ending. In our world, clout fades, budgets break, and servers crash. Nothing is guaranteed, including your favorite series! (No matter how many times you stay up late to watch that shit, you can’t ensure that your show won’t get canceled) furthermore, your chosen mangaka who you trust with your best fantasies might be fu and not know how to properly end a series!
A spectacular, life-changing Anime and Manga series ending is DIFFICULT to find. We stated earlier, budgets break and clout fades, and both results in Mangakas getting sent home early or an Anime series getting canceled. If we asked the average Anitwit Blerd, we’d probably hear that an series ending has to tie up all the loose ends neatly. Most viewers want a neat wrap-up of character/world conflicts, but what about titles like Cowboy Bebop and Hunter x Hunter? (Yes, we know the Manga is still limping along in publication, but c’mon, Y’all know the Anime is done) Neither of these series had neat endings, but both are excellent!
Tap in with the crew as we discuss what makes a good Anime and Manga series ending, do they need to be open ended or closed ended, our favorites, our worst and everything in between.
